Doing Right Requires Thinking Right
By Joe Lightfoot | Pastor of Adult Ministries |
In our society we are overloaded with choices. Being able to make the right decisions comes from our ability to think correctly. Author James Allen writes, “As the physically weak man can make himself strong by careful and patient training, so the man of weak thoughts can make them strong by exercising himself in right thinking.”
To develop the ability to think rightly, it is hard to beat reading your Bible regularly. You can sharpen your ability to think rightly by establishing the habit of daily Bible reading.
Perhaps you’ve tried this in the past…maybe somewhere in the process you lost momentum…or the process overwhelmed you. Don’t be discouraged! As our new ministry year has just started, now is a wonderful time to start fresh!
In Psalm 119, verse 11, the writer indicates he has planted God’s Word in his heart so that he can live in a way that brings God glory. That’s right thinking that leads to right living! Some wonderful options are listed below.
