Don’t Break the Chain

Men’s Retreat | September 26-28
Following 40 faith-filled years, Moses arrives at the door to the promised land. Deuteronomy 34 tells the story, as God allows the heroic leader to see but not enter the land. Fortunately, Moses had invested much time, effort, and counsel in preparing Joshua to take Israel on the last leg of their journey.
Although the entry into the “land of milk and honey” was difficult, Moses prepared Joshua well for the challenge and equipped him to succeed. Although it took years, the Israelites entered and began to settle the land.
Unfortunately, Joshua didn’t have a “Joshua,” someone he was equipping and preparing for leadership. Joshua never duplicated the gift Moses had given him. When Joshua died, God’s people entered a world where “there was no king in Israel and everyone did what was right in his own eyes,” (Judges 17:6 & 21:25).
Joshua broke the chain of leadership development and sent Israel into a spiral of devastation and decay.
This lack of equipping is happening throughout our culture today as young men miss out on gaining wisdom and insight from those who have experienced more of life.
Here is an opportunity for you to share some of your experience with another man—sign up today for the 2008 FFC Men’s Retreat!
In contrast to Joshua, in the New Testament (Acts 9:26–27) Barnabas picks up Paul when the believers were afraid and untrusting. Through the support of Barnabas, Paul’s impact reaches the entire world.
Your investment in the life of just one other man can have unknown impact for the kingdom of God. Sign up for the men’s retreat and leave with a specific strategy to invest your life in another man to further God’s plan for the world…and for you!
