Mike Rose

Pastor Mike was raised in a Christian home and attended a Baptist church with his family. As a teenager, he accepted Christ as his Savior. He was called to become a pastor as a teenager, but didn’t actually pursue that calling until he’d served 13 years in the military. Upon surrendering to the call of pastoral ministry he enrolled in Liberty University, eventually earning a B.S. in Church Ministries and a Masters in Religion and Pastoral Counseling.
Mike served as senior pastor of Albany Baptist Church in Ohio from 1993 till October 2006, when he accepted the call to become senior pastor at First Federated.
He and his wife, Connie, have three sons. One is grown and lives in Chicago. The other two are still at home and are students in the West Des Moines school system. Pastor Mike enjoys riding his motorcycle, doing yard work and studying the church – how and what makes churches effective. His study of the church has led to some consulting work with congregations seeking counsel regarding growth and structure.
